Description
10 urine culture-paddles for the detection of bacteriuria and the presumptive identification of uropathogens. The addition of polymixin in the CLED agar creates a selective medium for the growth of enterococci, staphlococci, proteus and yeast while preventing the growth of most e.coli, klebsiella, and enterobacter. MacConkey agar is selective for the growth of gram negative bacteria. The neutral red indicator included in the media causes the colonies of lactose fermenting bacteria to appear pink or red. Included in the package are ten self-adhesive patient labels, and instructions for use, which includes the Colony Density Chart
